Dropped into my local Tyre guy today to get the tyres rotated and balanced on the Patrol which i do every 10000kms and was told by the salesman that Cooper have put out a recall on 285/75/16 STs that were purchased after April 2005 so on Tuesday next week i get a new set put on for free.
Do not know what the problem is with them he would not say but for those of you running the 285/16 i would recommend that you go and see your Cooper dealer.

Hi there Martin,
I have 285/75/16 ATs and STs and when I was at Jack Baker Tyrepower in
Adelaide yesterday discussed the recall.
My tyres are not in the affected serial number range, and there are (he says) only 30 sets of tyres imported to Australia that were within that range - I think a 3 month manufacturing period.
Ciao for now
Andrew.

The problem is that on the shoulder of the tyre, just on the outside of the lugs blistering was occuring due to the rubber not curing properly. Thats the story i was given.
Can someone tell me where the serial number is located on the tyres. Im buggered if i can find it.
cheers,
Sam.
