Evening All,
Does anyone use aluminium poles for their camper trailer awning/annexe. If so are they any good or are we better off sticking with the steel ones.
Any comments greatly appreciated. Thanks.:))

My camper trailer came with alloy poles for the annexe. I have never had any trouble them and I think their light weight is a good thing in the plastic waterpipe holder.

Greg,
We have used aluminuim poles for years with heavy tarps and had no trouble and also for the weight on your vehicle, go allloy
Peter.

Hi Greg,
We have a
Kimberley Kamper with the full length 8 foot wide awning and we find the alloy poles a lot sturdier than the glavanised steel poles at full height.
Also the twist lock is so much better than the little grub screw in the steel ones...doesn't rust. Reckon they're worth the $25.00 price tag.
Hope this helps.
Happy Camping

Main benefit is the weight and much easier to pack due to no grub screw. Problems have been the feet come of pretty easy and I had one that just spun and would not lock in.
Overall, I much prefer the alloy ones.

And the aluminium ones don't rust and lock up.

Agree with the above.
I would NEVER buy steel again. Aluminium is IMHO way better. Much lighter and no rust, work
well.
Cheers
