I ran into a guy I've known for 15 years today, he lives at the end of my street. His daughter and mine are friends, and he's a guy I've admired for a long time. They are a top family.
He used to run a limo business and was always doing bits as a mechanic for workshops on the side, he loves cars and trucks. He's the sort of guy who stops when you have the bonnet up and goes out of his way to give you a hand.
So what's his strange occupation ?
Well he's bought a wrecking yard, and does cars up for sale as a sideline. Everyone does that I hear you say.
But ! he's honest, remember. An honest mechanic and wrecker on the Gold Coast ? I can't believe I've said that (I'm sure there are others that I havent met :)
I wonder how long he'll last ? I'd better get down there and have a look around before he goes broke I rekkon :))

With any luck he'll make a fortune in a very short time and force the 'less honest' traders out of business. I do tend to daydream at times though :)))))

The term honesty, in business varies a little i think. Second hand car dealers are a good example!!. The half honest ones survive sometimes, the rogues go broke real quick.

Brian, he's at Currumbin, probably a bit far south for you. In fact, I'll have to doublecheck the name of the place, as there are a few. Told him I'd drop in during workies and take a peek.
He did mention that he's part of the wreckers hotline but I guess most of em are. We didn't chat for long as he was putting in a rooflining on a car he was doing up.

I get down that way a fair bit actually..... the hospital down there is one of my clients.
I don't usually buy from wreckers but if you let me know his business name I'll keep him in mind... always happy to support someone recommended!!
