It's raining, it's drizzling - all day since early this morning - and we've only had about 7mm (28 points = just over 1/4 inch) - it's 20.5 degrees all day and it's nearly washed the car clean, and all the trees and leaves. Always amazes me how much nitrogen the plants get from just a little shower of rain.
Not from the Cyclone but the cloud mass over us is the bottom end of the monsoon cloud over Darwin.
Talking to Mr Isa earlier today and they've been buffetted by winds from Cyclone Larry and were having some good rain since this a.m.

Ruth,

Will the rain from the Cyclone run down through to the desert.
If it does when do you expect it to get there.
It is bad enough that it had done so much damage in Cairns and the surrounding area but the flow on could also effect other parts of the country.

Wayne, don't think the desert will get anything out of this one. Depends how much rain is received on NT side of the border. Just talking to Jol Fleming and the Hay River has run and Lake Caroline has water in it - that's from rain last week (?) at Tobermorey way. The Georgina has good run in it - but only down as far as Muncoonie - more rain up top end of Georgina and could be enough to push down through to Eyre Creek. Be hopeful though.
Boy of boy, we went out to desert last weekend - and I have never seen it so dry - so desolate.

G'day Ruth

Hey thats great news for Birdsville. I head out to Phosphate Hill tomorrow for a couple of days, I hear it is windy and raining there. I recon you may get another flush in the river before long. Get those fishing lines ready :-)

We already have a couple of takers for Simpson trip, so will no doubt see you on 21 July.

It is amazing how rain makes plants grow but water from the hose doesn't!

Cheers
Dave O

PS is Sully gonna be there in July...would love to catch up with the young fella again

Hi David - Sully will probably be gone by then - he's arriving early April - ready to the Dedication on the Memorial. Might still be here - depending on the fish!

Ruth

Thanks for that update, looking forward to caching up and sitting around the fire. Hopefully Sully will be there, if not, we may need to find a way to be for Anzac Day.
