Cairns campertrailer & camping group
The first get together was held on the
Cairns Esplanade 12 hrs before the bloody cyclone.
The attendance was great but there were several apologies from interested people who were neccessarily caught up with cyclone preps etc.
Now that that is over anyone wishing to be part of our first trip away to EMU CREEK the Anzac Day weekend contact me via EO and I will get your email address to include in the groups email...
The group aims at learning from one another, caters for people who do not even have a tent or have never camped. We will supply (lend that is) whatever is needed for a person or persons to make up their mind if they wish to be part of the group or even to allow them to decide what gear they may wish to purchase for themselves.
Caravans, camperhomes are also welcome but may not be able to travel to some of the venues we have discussed going to. Never mind we will also "fairweather camp" as
well as roughing it so to speak.
Give us a try ....no joining fees, no
membership, no commitee, (must be an alcoholic to attend or at least drink tea or coffee) only the very occasional meeting if needed as we will make our plans around the campfire at each trip away.

Crazy Dog
The current situation regarding the ability of people to sue for any real or imagined grievance is disgusting.
However it is a real problem, and advice I've been given about forming a casual group such as yours leaves you, and any other 'member' exposed to serious financial penalty.
I'm not saying don't do it - but
check out the legal implications to ensure that you don't unknowingly get caught out.

I have a number of friends who have an interest in darts and beer and we meet at the local pub every pancake Thursday in the alternate leap year. Does this mean that we can be held liable for any damn thing that happens when we meet?
I understand the requirements for ensuring that you 'do the right thing' but this "I'll Sue" mentality is just getting to be a real joke. As a nation we seem to be accepting the whole process of there must be someone to blame for everything that happens.
When we are on the road we usually have informal gatherings at about beertime each day. So what's the difference with what the
Cairns group are doing. Nothing.
No Committee! No FORMAL organisation! No Annual fees! The fact that you 'must be an alcoholic' could attract attention but then it probably applies anyway. Tongue
firmly placed in cheek.
Join the 'Deport a Litigation Lawyer campaign' ( No committee - No Fees - No meetings and currently a
membership of one).

Yeah Litigation is a red herring although all that attend will have a duty of care toward each other as in all aspects of community/society.
We have yet to reach the level where the family/relatives and friends Christmas gathering becomes a formal group.
Is this open to only members? as non members cannot PM to be included on the email list.
cheers fnq

We don't care who you are...If you are good company then you are welcome.
As far as litigation is concerned they can go for it - I couldn't care less. I have nothing worth sueing (that don't look right!) for anyway except the campertrailer - NO --- NOT THE CAMPERTRAILER!!!!!
