Hi Folks, a couple of friends and I were discussing the idea of using a
low-voltage winch (similar to one used to haul a heavy boat back onto
it's trailer) to take the grunt out of winding up a "wind-up"
camper-trailer, of the type produced by Jayco, Coromal, Goldstream and
others. I wondered if this had already been tried, and thought this
might be a good place to ask. :-)

Coromal offer an electric system as an option on their campers.

Thanks John. I thought I had read all there was to read about the Coromal - I just re-read their brochures and found it tucked away on the back page of their caravan brochure - no mention of it on their Silhouette brochure. I missed it! And I bought a wind-up model! Doh! - never mind - pleased with it anyway. :-)

There is guy on he sunshine coast that nakes a camper trailer and a trayback camper that opens with an electric motor. It even has a remote control. Pretty cool.

Thanks Wheeler :-)
I was wondering if there was any attachment available that maybe clamped onto the A-frame of the trailer and motorised the wind-up procedure. Maybe a niche opening for some manufacturing entrepreneur.
