Hi All .
If its not about revenue, then why are the speed traps set up on holiday weekends in areas where you don"t see them for months at a time during the normal working week? Theirs always a big surge of traffic qn the hwys during holidays , but its not all that quiet in normal times either. After saying this bet i get booked at easter somewhere!!.

Cheers Axle

You'll only get booked if you speed. It's in your control

Axel,

If you don't speed you will not get caught.

It seems that when it comes to holidays we all want to get there as fast as we can.

People that don't drive Monday to Friday or only drive on city streets for 48 weeks of the year, are then let loose on the open hi way.
Most of the time they are not used to driving at the higher speeds and longer distances

The speed limits are not changed for the Holiday break, but more police and speed traps.

If it helps stops a idiot tail gaiting or overtaking when there is not enough room to do so or is drink driving, then I am all for the extra police.

Willem,

All the better to see me.

I never do things by half.

I had the aerials front and back so why not use them.

When you are out on the Canning just look for the White Troopie with the two flags and that should be me.

its for your safety. there's always a surge in the road toll on long weekends and the extra police is aiming to prevent just that. don't speed and you won't get caught!

My point is that they patrol a 60k zone with three cars, low acicident area, yet you can drive up the pacific hwy on the east coast a high accident area and see three patrol cars in 300ks ???.

Easter is the worst time of the yearfor fatalities. It is the last decent break with reasonable weather until Xmas, so heaps go way. As others have said, if you dont speed, you wont get booked. Get sick of people making excuses when they get done for speeding.

Cheers
