This is a an amazing crash test video, I could not stop laughing. The first is the X5 bmw and the other is a similar car made in china, these guys may make top winches but I think they have a little R&D to go with cars.

China are obviously developing a new airbag system, if it looks like your head may not connect with the airbag, the airbag automaticly readjusts to meet your head, and then keeps going, mashing your head into your head restraint.

I forgot to put in the Ford F150, it has many many benefits in so many areas. People are raving about them, now F150 lovers have a golden bullet in their ammo. This is a must see.

Just watched the clip of the F150. The dummy has a seat belt on but the seat belt is anchored to the seat and not the "B" pillar. No wonder the dummy went under the dash.

B pillar or no, the whole car crushed him like a tin can, that car is a heap of crap no matter what the excuses. But as stated, I think the new F150 is better. Still though, they may be bif, but they aint good.

Frontal Offset collision is still the hardest barrier test to pass. Australian ADRs changed early this decade to make our 4wds safer but our 4wds still don't have to pass a frontal offset barrier collision test.

They used to be exempt from a lot more than they are now.

There's still room to improve though and market forces will push the manufacturers there before the legislators IMHO.

Actually, if you scroll down, to where it says how they RE TESTED it, at, get this.... 54 kmh, it looks fairly ordinary to me.

If you Google Landwind, all you seem to get is either badly written Chinese websites, or European sites telling you how bad this thing really is.

Gotta wonder, don't you.....

Who needs airbags when you've got a steering wheel to stop your head going through the windscreen.....there again, it didn't sop the windscreen coming up to meet your ead...................

Safety costs money and doesn't always look pretty, look at race cars. How much are we prepared to pay.

the F150 vid was doing the rounds a few years ago... Someone came up with some info detailing that for had completely re-engineered the "F" trucks and that they were now amongst the safest cab chassis combo's in the world... Can't remember where i saw it, might have been Outers...

These give me some faith in my Triton... A 70Mph roll over...

Hi there Ray, they're from the L200 forum from the UK... I put them up a while ago with a link to the thread. I got yackin' to the guy and got his permission to share them about the place..The guy claims 70Mph and there was no reason to doubt him. Mind you, I'm in no hurry to test it out...

Maybe it rolled onto it's roof and slid to a stop. Feasible.

Been to a few at half that speed that have looked much worse.

Dave, I'd say it spent most of it's time on the roof... Other pics in the post show damage to every panel on the thing, worst was front left and roof though.

Reckon you're right, look at the top of the intercooler intake. It's definately gone for a slide.

Best way to come to stop though. I'll take a long scary slide to a stop than the impact when you roll into the trees.
