Completed a 6,200 klm trip from
Brisbane touring Tassie and return during Dec 2005. Used an Acer N35 PDA, pre-loaded with Co-Pilot Pocket PC 5 mapping installed on SD card. Unit comes with botha an internal and external GPS receiver, windscreen mountable PDA cradle and in-car and mains charger. The mapping is suprisingly accurate and the application is simple to use and the LCD colour display is also very clear, including night driving mode. Voice guidance is also very clear and precise. I paid $770 total (from Johnny Appleseed GPS, Bris). I'd rate the unit 4 1/2 stars out of 5 stars. Bonus also as the N35 provides MP3 and Pocket Word, Excel functions etc. All-in-all, a very versatile and cost-effective solution! The only negative is the SD card can pop out if you unintentionally push it in. Problem solved by simply applying sticky tape!
