Jack,
I am in the same boat as you, heading
home late April after too long away. Can't wait although new job will still keep me chained down a bit.
Have you thought about
Esperance? This place has the most awesome beaches and
camp sites and it is mostly easy beach driving and even the softer stuff is OK with low tyre pressures (12-15psi for fatties if its real soft). You could go via Denmark/
Albany to split it up which has some great spots and easy 4wd tracks. You should also be in with a very good chance of landing a salmon this time of year.
There are also some
treks on this site for the south west that sound great and have convinced me to have a go at them later this year.
Check out the
black point and
Yeagarup Dunes treks.
cheers
