hi, i was wondering if anyone had toured this area by themselves, not with a tourist company, that is where is a good spot to launch your boat, and can you camp on any of the islands, just basically any informnation about the area would be appreciated.

I spent a fair bit of time in the area around King Sound, Collier Bay, Cockatoo Is & Koolan Is doing tidal survey's. Heaps of Islands to camp on if you can secure your boat or let it sit high and dry till the next tide.

No chance of launching a boat there unless you get it taken out on a barge or large tender. Depends on your range and size, you could put it in at One Arm Point and motor around to Collier Bay or the like.

Most of the time I spent ashore would be dropped off by dinghy of chopper, record the tidal range over a couple of days and then be picked up and dropped off at the next mark, weather it be a rocky out crop or an island. Carried a 7.62 FN for sharks and crocs.
