well, for those of us who grew up with Rose Tattoo, this is a sad loss. For me also a strange one. Pete was playing in my head all weekend, my Tatts vinyl sitting proudly at the turntable, now I know why I guess.

or "We can't be beaten", great riff. Went to the benefit at the Enmore, he didn't look good then, everyone on stage knew it was the end. Been looking for the DVD anyone seen it?

Truckster, I do have to agree that most is, not all though...
My Crawl, Chisel, sherbet, LRB, Acca & the likes still get spun every chance I get.
But I have to admit, Country Music is my first love....

Damn......Was only talking to someone on Saturday night about him. Very sad. When I first heard he had cancer I thought had to be lung or liver but it was bloody prostrate that got him.

Indeed Ruth, that MND is nasty business, happened to my best man's Father, very sad to witness.

It is interesting, but for me, when a musician dies, and one I respect, I find a different sadness about it to others passing. Must be to do with the effect their playing/interpretation has had on me. I wish Stevie Ray Vaughan and Hendrix were still alive making music. The kids ate dinner to Pete's slide guitar "with the amp on eleven" last night. Will be going to the funeral this Friday.

kind regards,

Jeremy.

Jeremy, couldn't agree more with you about a musician's death - you put that rather well. My sons grew up to their mother's musical taste - stereo rather than TV - sometimes it was heavy classical (they always knew to stay away if I was playing Chopin on the epiano - wait until she gets to Mozart and then come in) - but loved rock and roll and blues music mostly. One of the kids turned into a good blue guitarist - must have been my early influence!!

Aha! diippin' me lid to you Ruth!

my Father is the classical music nut, my Mother got me into the Stones, Beatles, Cash etc. I left the Beatles behind after primary school. Once I discovered the blues, I never looked back. My first child was born on Jimi Hendrix's birthday, I make sure she tells people that :)
