why would you trade a patrol for a hilux surf? i think it'd tow the van alright, i haven't driven one but from what i've heard they're not bad. there's a few owners on this site. they'll help.

And why trade a later model car for an earlier model car? These questions maybe irrelevant to your situation ie you don't like your current car and really like the one you're thinking of buying, but people will ask these questions so it is much simpler and easier to get relevant answers if you provide a bit more of a story of what's going on otherwise people like me will enter follow-ups like this ;)

its a 3.0 GU handgrenade - trading it in on a Lada sounds good.

So therefore he doesn't need a new vehicle?
So therefore he should trade with some sort of resale value?
Sorry. don't get your point. Please explain? ( in Pauline Hanson's voice!)

1) how do you know?
2) question or statement? why?

he doesnt want it to bleep itself and cost him $15,000 like it is many other 3.0 owners with the blow apart like a space shuttle.

It was a comment. You won't know unless you look and if it's found to of been replaced by nissan I'd hang onto it rather than get a hilux.

Dave, don't do it! I've driven Hilux's at work for the last 6 years (petrol and diesel)and the things that strikes me is they are all rough to ride in, uncomfortable to sit in and noisey! Spend a heap of money on them and they can be made tolerable.

The new current model Hilux is much better, but still not a patch on my GUIII 3.0.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Cheers! :-)

Hi Guys,
just to set the record straight , there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Patrol, outstanding car, I'm merely trying to freee up some cash and still have a good towing vehicle , did'nt know I'd start a riot, good grief,
and I still never got any input, wish I could skip this Toyota Nissan thing,
thanks anyhow,
Dave
