Hello All,

As i am new to 4x4's, can anyone tell me what i should expect to pay for a couple of 265/70R16 Dueler D693 tyres fitted & balanced?
Additionally, if anyone can recommend any places in Brisbane where i might get a good deal on a couple of these tyres it would be appreciated.

Your best bet Hobbes is to get on the phone and ring around for a few quotes.
Are they still making the 693's ?

When i was getting quotes a few weeks ago for 31 x 10.5 x 15 bridgestone 693, all the tyre places said they were on the way out as 694 was taking its place, i think they were roughly $190 each.

I ended up getting goodyear wranger atr for $179 each and dont regret it, excellent grip in wet and dry conditions on the road.

I found the price differance between 15" and 16 " could be as much as $100.
I've had 2 693's peel of on me before and I just don't trust them anymore. I have a set on my new GU and can't wait until I replace them

To the best of my knowledge 694's were always made in Japan. Certainly mine are (2 months old). Bridgestone lead me to believe 694's have never been made in Oz - only 693 LT's.

Hobbes
Keep away from 265/70R16 693's - get Oz made 265/75R16 LT 693's if anything. Lots on this site about it.

Hey Hobbes, a couple of months back Bridgestone on Newman Rd Geebung had heaps, for $225 I think. I love them and have run 3 sets in a row on my GU. I keep them up around 40 + PSI depending on load and road surface, 32PSI if I'm on dirt and less if the track deteriorates. I must admit the 694 looks a much better tread pattern but I really don't want to go to a bigger tyre if I can avoid it.

Regards Trevor.

I would go the 694's. I have the 693 on my 60 series & they tend to wear prematurely in the centres regardless of tyre pressure. I have been told that this is due to weak crossbelts that cause the tyre to extend outwards in the centre at speed, causing wear. I have 694's on my other 4by & they appear to be wearing OK.
