Leichhardt River Sharks spotted 80 ks in land

This might be old news but i've just been on a sight were it has been reported that a station on the Leichhardt river has reported sharks in the river system 80 ks from the coast,she went on to say it's the biggest flooding of the area since 1964 and the river crossing is at a record high because of cyclone LARRY.cheer's GREENDOG

Certainly believable. Bull Sharks will travel well up a fresh water river.

Yep, sure will. Apparently they use the fresh to kill parasites.
Anything that annoys them usually drops dead in fresh water.

Yep thats the truth Geoff, even Humans but we don't have to even annoy them. They are very dangerous when this far up river because the river itself works like a large fish trap, they become lost and hungry. all tidal rivers in the tropics have black tips on average 40 to 50klms from the coast.

not worth a mention. i have had fish pinched by sharks at the flora,katherine,daley river junction. And a freshie was caught in windorah. 80 ks is standard for this sort of stuff

seen a dead Stingray near the old croosing of Fitzroy Crossing 1967, that's a long way up stream
