Looking for info on the road from The Tanami
mine through Hooker Creek and to Wave
Hill. Road info if available? Permits ? (does not show that they are needed on the Hema maps,is this correct? Travels times for just poking along. Thanks.

From the mines to Laj can be interesting with a few creek crossings depending on the recent rains. From Laj to Kalkaringi (Wave
Hill) is an easy drive. Many of the local land owners do the run in utes.
Like all roads in that part of the world, weather may play a role. Otherwise, I doubt you would even use 4 wheel drive. Just take it easy and keep an eye out for cattle.

No permit required, but Lajamanu
police do like to know if you are travelling on that road.

if you need fuel at Lajamanu, the bowsers close at 12 noon. Kalkarinji is a better option for fuel.
