Hi i just noticed fluid leaking out of my steering damper on my GU 3.0 litre is this easy for me to replace myself with an aftermarket one as it is going to nissan on wensday for a service and one would think this would be pricy to replace.

Regards
Dave

Dave

Just had new everything put under my GU. Old Man Emu steering damper $110. Shouldn't be too hard to replace, just a couple of bolts.

You will also need a tie rod end seperator or a ball joint seperator.
With one of these, it is indeed an easy job.

Pretty easy job. Mine did the same thing, just started leaking and lost all pressure. Replaced it with a Touch Dog 4 damper (have used the same damper on my Defender). Good piece of gear (about $120 I think from memory). Just have to undo 2 bolts and knock the old one out. The new one was a pretty tight fit, just needs a bit of persuasion!

I belted the crap out of mine for nearly 30 minutes before I spat it big time and drove around to the local mechanic who said, yeah, that one was a little tight!!!!!

More Nissan crap.

Went to have a peekaboo at my airfilter yesterday, when I took the top off the aircleaner box the seal fell out of the top piece of the lid in 5 pieces!!!!!!!!
Nissan don't sell the seal!!!!!!
you have to buy tho whole top piece for $189.00!!!!!
I can still hear the guy at spare parts laughing as I chocked on my coffee!!!!!!
