power and torque from the twin turbo 6.4L diesel is 260kw / 880Nm

Not brilliant when somebody uses a 3 Ltr V6
160 Kw
510 Nm
and only a single huffer.
Can't remember where I saw it now.
Perhaps help's available on this one.

thats a good point and true, you're talking about the Merc diesel used in the Jeep.... Having said that, the 3L diesel wont do nearly the same job, its just talking about power per litre for arguments sake....
Incidentally to double the power of a single turbo, diesel engine - not only would you double its cylinders and litres, but also the number of turbos...
So a twin turbo 6L diesel should put out double the power of a single turbo 3L - but i bet the 6.4 is detuned, so they can sell a 2009 model with 300kw/950Nm without too much effort

Yes, you're right about the play on improvements.
Was reading a WA paper article at the weekend where Audi has just won Sebring 12hr race using 5.5 Ltr diesel making 485 Kw and 1100 Nm.
That's really stirring up an old oiler????
