We are heading to Chowilla Station over Easter, driving up Friday morning, back Monday. Coming from Adelaide, in grey LC 100 with tinny on back, could be with red Nissan 4.2.

Not saying which site/s we hope to get, cos you just might be closer and try to edge us out, lol.

Generally use CH 14, but scan Ch10, 18 (repeaters) & others. See profile for selcall.

Would be good to chat to others who use this site.

Enjoy the weekend wherever you may be.

Hi Prickle,

Off topic a bit, what is Canunda NP like, any good campsites, did you see any surfers in there ??

Those dunes look like fun ! How did the TD handle it?

Cheers TPM

TPM

Have only done it 1x with 100series, did not do some of the big dunes that time. (Easter 2005).

Did do the ones at the back of Beachport.

How did it handle them, pretty easy, I had had surgery on my right should in Feb. and drove most of the trip from Carpenters Rocks to Beachport with one hand, Auto, just so easy, plenty of power, bit different after the HiLux "89.

Camp sites, yes there were a few. When are you going? Will check my notes and will probably be able to give you some directions/GPS points.

The 3x I have been through there did not see any surfers. If this is your thing, I would be checking with either the locals or NPWS. Pretty dangerous open ocean along Canunda beaches.

Others may say different.

Cant remember, but there may have been a some nearer/around Beachport at times.

Regards
Russ

Bad luck that we're heading to Strath for the weekend otherwise would have used the excuse to go for a drive. Maybe another time.

G'day,
We're going up to Beldora Station near Barmera. Up on Thu back Tue.
Would be tickled pink to get a radio call especially if you use the ExplorOz followed by your screen name as a call sign as I have been trying to get members to do.
Let's know what time you are likely to go through Barmera and I'll keep the radio on. We should be able to connect.
I monitor chs 10, 11 & 18
Cheers

Plan on leaving Adel (NE side) around 0730 hrs, will sit on around 100kph, so shoud be in the general area after 2-2.5 hrs, will give you a call on 10, then 11, then 18.

No repeater in the area that I am aware of.

If we are on our own will certainly be scanning with 10 & 18 in that group, if with one other 14 will be our main CH.

If you have selcall capabilities, see my profile.

Hope we catchu on the air.
