Before all you Datto owners starting making smart remarks, I'd appreciate some technical advice (that doesn't constitute sell the toyota and buy a nissan). What exactly does my mechanic mean when he says he will have to re-race (correct spelling??) my transfer case? Is this tech-talk for replacing warn parts, or is it an actual process of some description? As you can tell I'm a complete idiot when it comes to this sort of stuff.
Just bought the truck ex-govt. with 70,000kms on it, but it had been used and abused as a tow-horse. Lucky its under warranty!!!!

Chris, re-race basically means to replace all the bearings in the transfer case, ie the race and roller bearings.

As above, should also include all new seals, they are usually damaged in the bearing removal process.

Not a real big deal Ando to re-race the transfer case
Usually the idler gear shaft wears in them ,just did our 75 series made the world of difference ,took away the rumble and grinding niose our's has 285000 ks
Yours must have done some heavy work to need doing at 70000ks
Anyway good luck with it the 100s are great vehicles
