Hi Folks,
Well its desperation time! (grin) Due to the late arrival of may camper trailer from the canvas place (was getting it re canvased) I was unable to confirm my plans for our
easter break.. so now my first two caravan park choices are fully booked... So I need to find somewhere say within 3 hours of melbournes outer east where we can
camp and take the dog along too....
Suggestions welcome
john

As I recall you don't have a 4WD?
There are a few bush
camp sites along Freestone Creek Road (head north from Stratford). There are some on the Jameison to
Woods Point Rd. There is a caravan park on the road which heads through
Neerim South (about 10km south?). You could make the Murray around Swan
Hill in four hours, lots of
places around there you could get a 2WD and CT into. To be honest: I wouldn't go anywhere a 2WD could get to at
Easter and I'd only go
places most 4WDers wouldn't go either but that's just me - I'm a bit of an anti social bastard :)

Hi Mike
Yep swan
hill could be on the cards perhaps, going inland is perhaps more hopefull than costal at this time of the year
And yes we have a 1985
Tarago and a cub-o-matic camper trailer of the same vintage so no FWD tracks for us (sigh)
And I know you not really that unsociable :-)
cheers

Bah Humbug! :)
Drop me your e-mail address and I'll give you the details of a couple of
places around the Swan
Hill area which you could get a 2WD into but they are bush sites so no clean water (don't drink Murray water!) or
toilets but very nice spots to
camp.
Have a look for a copy of the book "Camping in Australia" by Cathy Savage and Craig Lewis, I think you would find a lot of useful info in it.
