seen kipor sets on ebay and they were yellow, but yesterday at anaconda store they were the same red as the hondas.. no raveing from me about prices or prefs but isnt it amazeing how a dash of paint goes so far in convincing the minds unsure that the choice of a kipor is going to be ok.....when people are on edge , it doesnt take much too tip them one way

I think the red ones are the square wave gens (less featured) whereas the yellows are the Honda equivalents.

Kipor makes two types of "Digital" generators in the 1000kVA range.

The cheaper Red Tg series - KGE980Tc maximum output 0.72kVA, 10kg

and the more expensive Yellow Ti series - KGE1000Ti maximum output 1.05kVA, 14kg

The Yellow one is 9db quieter, uses 55cc instead of 37cc motor.

Sorted in two series,i.e Ti series (Yellow SINEMASTER) and TC series (Red CAMPINGMATE).

Doesn't appear to be a marketing ploy but a different model standard within the make.

Not Kipor, but K-mart is selling a genny now for $599 with it states you can use a laptop etc with. Maybe a copy of the copy? I think I would feel better buying it at kmart than on ebay because if you have trouble you can just walk into one of their stores for an exchange or money back.

Yes I think whats happened here is that some of the larger retail chains such as Kmart or Anaconda have approached the distributors of Kipor about custom models for their markets. Obviously differentiated by Red and different wattage ratings these are aimed at the entry level market. I recently broke 2 of the rubber feet on my 3000ti and I believe this part of the generator is not built anywhere the quality and robustness of Honda and Yamaha, although the engine side of things they have been faultless so far. Mcfarlane Generators have been a great help with sourcing replacement bits for the Kipors.

Have a look at the new range of Engel ones. Honda parts and assembled by Engel as I understand.

The 1000w is $1299.00 (Good buying if you compare others)

Yeah, but I can only scrape together $800.00, so the Kipor 1000w looks good to me. Considering some are paying $98.00 at Bunnings for those noisy cheapies, I recon the Kipor is a good buy compared to the Honda or Engel, at over $1200.00

GMC 57db under load at 7mtr vs Kipor 58db under load at 7mtr ,, your bed partner when camping fa-ts louder after a feed of bush made stew. ,, or if a lady passes "wind" to warm the sheets.

There is no way known a GMC 2 Stroke generator is quieter than a Kipor, thats horse S___.! Are you reading printed specs or have you actualy measured the 2, because I've heard both running. When the GMC started and ran it was a like a lawn mower. The Kipor hummed away, the difference is ridiculous, trust me..
