Noticed the asus mypal 636 that comes with co pilot live software for $699 ( have seen advertised for well over $900 elsewhere) at aldi's. Has any one used this particular combo and is it worth it. From what I have read the software isn't the greatest but I cant justify the $1000 plus for similar units.

Darren,
IMO, the Aldi deal sounds like a good one. You get a nav systems plus a PDA which means you have a ready bought fully functional nav system with flexibility. I don't know much about Co- Pilot but at that price I'd live with it. I have a Sirf 3 GPS attached to my PDA and it works very well. If I had not just finished establishing my own PDA/GPS setup I'd be getting one of these for sure.

Hi,

Am presently buying the Asus MyPal 636 for $900 after a lot of investigation. Have seen the Aldi ad and a close look at the brief specs shown I believe it is a MyPal 632 (not 636). Both models look identical - the main difference is that the 632 doesn't have WiFi & I wanted WiFi.

On the Co Pilot software I have been told that the latest version is vastly improved on the earlier ones.

Willy,
Do you know if you can add other software to these such as ozi explorer etc or do they only run withthe installed sofware. Also what is WIFI used for and is that the only difference between the 632 and 633.
Thanks Darren

Been using a mypal 636 for a few months, with co-pilot.
Run ozexplorer CE too.
Both work well, but not together.
Co-pilot is reasonably good around town, and have used it around townsville as well.
Map accuracy is reasonably good.
That price is from Aldi may be a 632. Look ti up on the asus web site. www.asus.com. I can't remember all the details but there a number of differences.

The mypal 636 and 632 come with mobile 5 operating system, so are a full pda.

Have installed other software for various things.

The only difference is the 636 has wi fi and the 632 has an aditional mini sd card slot that the 636 does not have. They seem to be the same price from what I can see.
