was at Abercrombie on the 10/11th of March with a group from another forum.

whole place didnt show signs of much traffic thru the area.

there was some water in the creek at "the Sink" but there was already 3 vehicles there when we arrived friday afternoon and not eneough room for our group. main area holds 4-5 and a few other single sites off the side of the main track.
not suitable for camper trailers as campsites proper chained off from road..

we stopped at "silent creek" and there were only a few puddles of water.

here was plenty of fire wood at the silent creek camping ground as a lot of wood had been washed across the area by previous flooding .probably used up by now.

Although we came via Taralga we entered from Arkstone road and exited via Brass Walls. Brass walls was dry track and no problems for camper trailers.wouldnt attempt after rain with or without trailer.
if you enter from south ie Brass walls would suggest use Middle Fire trailer rather than Silent creek fire trail.not as steep and much smoother.

generally roads were good although lots of loose rocks.also very dusty.

wouldnt waste space packing a fishing line you will be lucky to get tyres wet.

cheers

thanks howard, sorry about the delay in the reply , just got back from easter at abercrombe, the conditions were exactly as you said , we went with another family, the sink was full on friday morning so we continued onto the beach and stayed there, we loved the park had some good 4 w ding on the sth/eastern end, not many people around , also unusual for npwl to have no camp fees. thanks for the helpful info. regards shepo
