I have a 2003 Landcruiser100 series TD ifs (standard height). I need new tyres and want to get an idea of what other owners have on their vehicles. Would like to get bigger tyres, but not sure what sizes will fit?

I've just fitted 285X75X16 after a 2" lift.
How have others dealt with the 15mm max rolling diameter increase the RTA allows in NSW. The draft NCOP allows 50mm but this has not yet been implemented by the RTA.

Grubba it all depends on your insurance company and motor registration branch. It is illegal to fit tyres that go beyond the approved placard sizes on your vehicle and the policing of this will become more of an issue over the next year or so when some new national legislation on vehicle fitouts comes into being. That aside there is a a generally accepted ruling that you can only exceed the placarded tyre size by 15mm. Your local motoring organisation and road transport authority will be able to confirm the exact needs in your state.
