Hi- just wondering if others have insured the contents of your caravan, and if so, with whom?
We've been investigating the options available, but most companies dont seem to ensure the contents for anything over $10,000, which doesn't really cover our gear, including a lot of surfing equipment, laptop computer, camera gear etc.
Thanks.

plus I meant to specify that the limit aside, the contents insured aren't the personal items- but the fixed things in the van itself. Most companies won't cover the other electronic items etc if we dont have a fixed address.

Most of the larger insurance companies offer caravan and content cover at fairly resonable rates. This is made up of cover for the van, fixtures and furniture and contents. If you want contents cover you can buy this by $1,000 incredments. We have ours with CIL who are as good as most. The contents side we have taken additional coverage to out '
home and contents' to cover goods while we are travelling.
We are happy with this arrangement.

Try APIA, They are very good, cover my digital camera, laptop, toaster, kettle etc etc against theft, damge, malicious acts etc. I had to give serial numbers on the valuable items but things that you would "normally associate" with caravanning were included.
