Can anyone please provide a road conditions report for the trip from
Birdsville to Mt Isa. We are planning to be up that way towards the end of August and would welcome advise as to the best route and road conditions etc etc. We were thinking of going via
Boulia ??

We were sightseeing so not in a hurry
Birdsville to
Boulia - left approx 0830 arrived
Boulia approx 1430
Had a look around the town and "did" the Min Min lights tourist thing - be sure to look in the
shop - their radio advert says "the only mystery in
Boulia is how they get all the gear in the shop"
When we arrived in
Boulia we were lucky to get an unpowered area to
camp - had not booked - this was in mid July
Left
Boulia approx 0830 and were in Mt Isa for lunch - easy
