someone may be able to tell us a bit more but they were talking about petrol possible going up to about $1.80 over the next 12 months and that there will be more empisis on looking at altenatives like bio diesel and ethanol.

Just remember we were also meant to be paying $2.00 per litre for ULP by last Christmas and 1.23 is along way off that mark.
If fuel actually hit that price in metro arias the government would need to step in and do something to stop a public uprising.

Oil this morning hit a new record high of $72 thanks to Mr Bush threatening Iran. Maybe I'm just being sinical (sp?) but the oil rich Bush family has nothing to lose with the prices going up.

Just paid $1.85 a litre for ULP at Mt Augustus and that's cheap. I was told Cobra was $2.00.
It's starting to take some of the fun out of travelling alright.
