Anybody had any experience with these filters. They screw into the nissan filter housing and have a water stop clear bowl at the bottom like the CAV filters. wondering if the filtration rate is okay for for 3.0 td diesel. thanks.

Dublediff, I suspect you're referring to the thing that 4WD Systems flogs...if so, it IS a CAV filter (296 type) with aluminium machined adapters to fit various Jap vehicles in the existing filter heads.

Many folk use the filters...I've heard no bad reports.

These filters are made by Denco Diesel and if you contact them, I think you will find they do not recommend using these adaptors on the 3.0 td as the fuel system pressure is too high.-Steve

One problem is you cannot reconnect the idiot light to the new filter. Letting you know that there is water in the bowl, But you can pull the bonnet and check the glass bowl it it takes your fancy!!!

I've got one and it works great. Like Michael says.....no idiot light on dash anymore, but filters are really cheap and can be changed often....I've been known to leave them for 20,000klm and still no problems.
Cheers

Denco do not recommend their filters for vehicles with electronic type pumps....however Ber### diesel, Don Kyatt, etc all fit the jap adaptor (under various brand names) to the 3.0 td as well as the 100 series toys and 4.2 gu. Apparantely they have 5 micron filtration same as Nissan. Sooooo - I bought one??? Will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for all of your input. cheers dublediff.

An alternative to buying the adaptor is to just buy the genuine CAV filter head. From memory it is a bit cheaper than the adaptor and easier to use.The only problem is you have to make your own bracket to mount it on ,as it is designed to be attached at right angles instead of flat like the original.-Steve
