hi everyone,
just got a rear air locker installed guys, and noticed a fairly decent run of diff oil through the drum. It's obviously going back, but I take it it's the diff seal?? Maybe it's normal??
The rear bearings weren't replaced I was told.
A massive pain in the bum (including the wallet, lol). I guess it pays to never take your car to get repaired on a friday.
thanks for any ideas.

well you have to take out the axles to remove your diff center, usuallu a good idea to change axle seals when doing so . I dosnt take much to get a axle seal leak from removing axles

Hi eric,
They should of replaced these yes? If they didn't then they got damaged when it was all put back together. Not to mention the handbrake doesn't work :-))

I dont know what car you have , but if the hand brake shoes are in the rear disc like a cruiser , then the diff oil will defenentry stuff that up. There is no need to change seals in a locker fit , it's just something I do whenever I remove axles . Seals are under $5 each , so I figure to replace them since i have the axle out .
It could be leaking because they were ruff in fitting axles , it could be just bad luck. Sometimes you can be gental as anything and still manage to stuff the seal up.
