Hi, Anyone know where I can find out some info on 80 series cruisers.
For example when did the 4500 petrol motor come out, what gearboxes they had etc.

80 seires upgrade was in 1993 , they went to a 4.5 , better g box and 16" wheels , in 1995 they had a CD update , not mush diffrent , but cae with diffrent trim and a , you guesded it , a cd player . In 1996 they had a chnage in injection system , sotghing to drastic , but a few injection components are fiffrent like air flow meter ect.

In the 100 series , the motor is the same , but injection system is totaly diffrent , they also run map sensor instead of air flow meter . Whick is great for vehicles with snorkels .

Gday
A few things need fine tuning....sorry if you take offense
4.5 came out 9/92, pre this, was the 3f...things changed heaps from the early models, wheel size, tyre size, flare size, sidestep size, gearbox, suspension lower, completely different plugs in wiring loom...body stayed thesame essentially,.
First fzj had flow meter and 02 sensor, till 1/95, when the cd update came, and the motor got a dirtier system, but more power....air mass meter, instread of the flow meter and no 02 sensor.
Later system is better, more robust for LPG anyway.
