Hi All, Was wondering if anyone has recently camped at the Burdekin falls dam camp grounds and if dogs are allowed? Any help would be much appreciated.

I hope you are coming from the north, becasue you won't get there from the south. There is nearly a metre of water over the dam.

I was there a few days ago on the south side - there was no camping signs up, nothing about dogs that I can remember.

Recommend driving in from the northern side (from AYR?)

G'day Hems,
I've camped there twice and can't remember seeing any "no dogs allowed" signs anywhere.
If your wondering what David is talking about have a look at my rig pics, you'll see my bike parked at the base of a bloody great concrete wall, thats the southern access rd it's parked on, and yes the wall is the spillway for the dam.

Yes sorry, I didn;t explain that very well. as Pezza said, the southern access is along the base of the dam wall in the river bed. When the dam is overflowing, there is no access from the South.
