Oil Filters

Ryco are around the best aftermarket ones, theres Valvoline, few others, Coopers, etc.....

Did you try Genuine?.. You may be suprised.. nissan ones are lots less than that for my GQ!

Why would you bother putting a 1hz engine at risk to save a couple of bucks. I personally would only fit genuine but they are $40, next choice would be Ryco because they have been around for years and are reputable but Rox a new HZengine is gonna cost you about $12K plus. Do you really want to take the risk on that. Remember a good filter is going to take some time to find but a bad one might only be one oil change away!

Japanese manufacturers make kost of their money in spares. My namesake is crazy parting with $40 for genuine.
RYCO and valvoline are good- don't go for unknowns...

Rox - if you're getting a Ryco Z334 for $26.95 then I'd stick with that. As a matter of interest they're closer to $50 where I come from which is why I changed. I believe the Z334 is the manufacturers choice although I could stand corrected on that as I haven't had my 80 since new.

I personally use the filtermate adaptor and a Z9 filter for under ten bucks and there are and will be many critics of this choice. Rightfully so too as we've all got differing opinions and situations. I also change my oil every 5K which is under 6 weeks and intend flicking the motor in the near future for something that would pull the skin off a rice pudding.

Do a search on this forum and you should get some really valuable information that will help make an informed decision immensely easier.

Wrong Bruce I am not Ozi. I don't like Mitzi's and I have a Toyota. That is something Ozi would never HAve !!! I think I read somewhere he went overseas.

I have noticed a few comments on RYCO filters lately, but whats wrong with FLEETGUARD. I know RYCO are good filters because I have used them on my other vehicles for years without complaint, but I was told that FLEETGUARD are also good filters used widely throughout the transport industry. Any comments on FLEETGUARD filters. They are currently costing me $22.00.
