This topic has been covered here many many times. Do a search of the forum and you'll find more info than you can read in one sitting :))

In melbourne we have a bit of interest including "how to do it yourself" days where they go through a small home plant and help you set it up. I am sure the same sort of movement exsists in NSW, just go to those eco friendly type business which are usually set up by caring individuals and often know about who does what. I inadvertantly found out this way in melb. It's illegal if you mix with dinodiesel so you kind of have to forge a little trust before people let you in on it all, but I was suprised to see how many people are making diesel here. If it wasnt for the AT friggen O I think quite a lot of people would be doing these home operations.

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I to am interested in making my own Bio, but what has it got to do with the AT friggen O if you are only making it for yourself? Or is it that they are missing out on their precious fuel tax. With home brew beer it's not illegal, make your own beer, make your own Diesel what's the difference?

if you mix with regular diesel you have to pay excise, if you get caught your in hot water, if you use 100% canola then your fine to use without excise. if i could easily get it i would not give a damn about the ato, in my opinion its immoral to not allow people to freely use a fuel with the massive environmental potential of BD. lets start a religion based on it, in this country you cant go against religious beliefs. the BD church meets each sunday at my place, BYO holy oil.

BTW right now you can put 25% new canola oil in your tank. I would today but canola oil costs more P/L than diesel. Still tho, i am going to give it a go anyway.

If I could find someone who'd deliver me a 44gal drum of the stuff I'd start using it myself. I could easily use a drum a month. Problem is that nobody wants to run foul of the authorities etc.

jimm, if you sniff around your local 4wd accessories suppliers or your local 4wd clubs you will find someone who can put you onto someone.
