We have just finished the Holland Way - the 2wd section of Hollands Track
Broomehill to
Hyden. Fabulous. Mallees in flower, salmon gums glowing in new bark,
wildflowers galore. We were in old L300, no trip meter or GPS.
One problem, we couldn't find
Dragon Rocks. These were a set of rocks said to have supplied
John Holland with 2000 gallons of water. We drove down Dragon
Rock road, but only saw
the Rock View
Nature Reserve - no access roads. No
Dragon Rocks. We found Grahame Newbeys notes from this web site invaluable, but somehow, couldn't find
Dragon Rocks.
We are a little unsure whether we found the correct area in Silver Wattle
Hill as
well, as some descriptions state that there is a
granite outcrop there as
well. We didn't find it!!.
Would love to go back again, just to prove that they are there !!

Dragon Rocks is near the southern boundary of the
nature reserve a couple of hundred metres in and is accesed by a track off the main road. We missed it to when when we went that way a couple of years ago but found it on the trip back. It's just another
rock really and isn't any thing special.
