The first camp site is closer to the toilet/shower block hence we camp closer to the amenities as we have little tackers.
They are both great - although it has been some time since we where there.

Be buggered Teribul - we were thinking of going up there too! Might run into you.

Troy,

Do you know if the first one is Poplar Flat or Manna Gum? We were going to book with National parks tonight.
Sounds like there is one amenities block shared by the two campsites m8 - is that right.

Thanks for the help. :)

Thanks folks
Sounds like we can't go too far wrong. We'll pack the winter woolies and toss a coin. Thanks again, Happy Days.

Drop toilets only.

I think the first one is Manna Gum. Not 100% sure.

There are two toilet blocks. So I think either campground is close to amenities.

You could have a look at Janowen 4wd Park while your there. You'll pass it on your way in.

Hi Teribul

How did you go at Goomburra....we have just booked for the Queens longweekend at the Poplar Flat campsite. Any tips for me of the area would be good as I have never been there. I was thinking of taking my campoven ...will the fireplaces accomadate such a thing? Someone also mentioned when they were there last there was brazier things that we scattered over the 2 camping grounds.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers Rhonda

Hello Rhonda
I've just recently been thinking of posting some details, you've now stirred me into action.Poplar Flat is the first of the two campgrounds and the flatter of the two. Across the road from the campsites is a composting toilet with His. Hers and disabled cubicles and hand basins with tap water laid on, no showers though. These are some of the more pleasant of such toilets I have experienced. There are taps throughout both camping areas and plenty of fire places. The fire places are enclosed and have hinged bbq plates incorporating grills for the billy. When the plates are folded back out of the way it gives a decent sized open fire and there is plenty of room for a camp oven. The two camping areas are separated by a dry creek crossing. Manna Gum is the prettier of the two but not quite as flat, although still very acceptable. It has a toilet block also, a little larger to cope with the extra bods. At the far end of Manna Gum is a walking track which does a circuit through the forest. It is a pleasant easy walk with bellbirds and whip birds about. To the left of the entrance to the camp grounds is a turn off which winds up the mountain to a couple of lookouts, worth a look. The road to the camping areas is easy going with only about 5K of dirt. The whole trip can be easily be done in a sedan car towing a van, so you'll have no trouble in your rig. Cheers, Terry
