We have just returned from another great weekend at Cooloola and the weather and fishing was good.

There were the usual few revheads pulling drunk mates on snatch straps and body boards on the beach but once they fell over from too much XXXX peace returned.

I was surprised at how much sand has been washed away and wonder how long it will take to build up again. (or if !)

Here is a few photos of the low sand levels on the beach.

Regards Derek.

What was biting Derek, was thinking of going up soon but after seeing pictures of the crowds there at Easter was thinking might let their human waste subside a bit before setting up there again.

Dart on Blood worms.

I think chemical toilets should be compulsory and there should be a waste tank at each dust bin point.

Boom gate at each end and a ranger doing the checking. No toilet no camping on the beach.

Hi Derek, Did you attempt to cross Mudlo Rocks? one of your pics show a vew from Rainbow Beach township looking at the rocks, just wondered if it was passable. Cheers.

Yes I went over the rocks on the way in and around them on the way out.

Keep to the low tide +- 2 hours max.

Regards Derek.

Hi,

I was up there too. At low tide we drove straight past the rocks to Rainbow beach and them back after a coffee. I would only try a couple of hours either side of low tide. Not keen on driving through the water.
