Morning All, just after 5:00 p.m. last evening Willem phoned in. They were 27 klms north of the French Line have coming south from the Geographical Centre. They left at 8:30 a.m. and it took them until 4:30 p.m. to do 72 klms. They were all exhausted (and exhilarated) but Willem said the dunes were so soft and so big and sandy that he thought he was back in Namibia.
Having a good time and learning lots.

Hi Ruth, been raining here so they are just as well to be away from it up there. Good to get the update of how they have got on. I have no doubt we will get a few stories leak out of the tour party. Give our regards when they call next please.

Going to fit muddies this week Steve. Had another 20mm over the last 24 hours here. Think the farm Rodeo needs them too. I din't think you were a piker mate from a day of play.

Going to tie on some STTs on Tuesday arvo an then I should have some grip, going the next size up. I don't know if I could use Centipedes, but I guess they look like tied shoelaces in real life.

I wonder if Willie going the unorthodox way is finding soft sand all that way. Hope he has real soft tyres and no doubt he has.

How are The Tyres holding up, any damage. Did they find the marker they left behind back in the 80’s. ?

Thanks for reminding me - meant to say - they couldn't find the marker they put there in the 80's. Did a 20 klms radius drive - Willem would have spent more time looking if he could - they did find all the other markers that have been left since.
Didn't mention tyres last night - so that's a good sign.
