Well with kits comming down in price ($2-300) I was thinking that it may be a good idea to upgrade the lights on the GU. Low beam is crap so I was thinking of doing these as I have driving lights for high beam. Has anyone done this yet and what are your thoughts?

Leroy,
I installed XenonOz kit several months ago. They have a kit that allows you to still have high and low beams in a H4 style globe. I still also have the Lightforce 240s, but now, when I dip down, I am not instantly plunged into darkness. I am VERY pleased with the pure white light they put out and have added the blue covers to the Lightforce as well, which makes the light they emit, much whiter too.
However, they were a bit more than $2-300....hahaha
Cheers
Roachie

Roachie, I brought set from Brightlights in Victoria for $511 including tax, I can't see how Frank from XenonOz sells his for $1650 , he claims his is the best and made in Korea, where others made in Germany aren't as good. There is a guy in NT thats sell HID's made from the same factory as Hella. for the $500 mark. I could be wrong but some one is making more profit.

Is there a difference in the quality of the kits? Big difference in price between 500 and 1600 bucks!

You could be right Leroy But I would rather drive a car made in Germany than a car made in Korea . But thats just me. I know others would disagree on this one.
It's like driving a Nissan to a Toyota.... any bites. :-) .

Not sure about them being made in Korea....could be I guess. I know the ballast boxes have the Hella logo on them and I just assumed they were made in Germany.

It could well be a case of me having been ripped off by Frank; if other places are selling similar quality kits for $500-.........take a look at the quote beside my rig pic below this post.......it looks like I'm the bloke with money and Frank is the bloke with the experience!!!!!!!!! (and now we've swapped places!!!! hahahaha)

According to Frank his are made in Korea, which is where the hella's are meant to be made, and the German brands aren't as good so he says. Here is the forum site he plays a big part of. Site Link

That's strange......I just looked at the link and on one of the Posts a bloke talks about whether to pick Narva or XenonOz HID kit. Frank responded by stating that XenonOz are made in Germany and Narva are made in China......no mention of Korea.

Wouldn't bother with them. Can't remember whether GU's have the sealed beams or not??? If not, the H4 xenon bulbs from supercheap for $32 are awesome. I have them and am very happy, just as good as my mates $300 upgrade.

Chris, I'm curious. What exactly did you do, High and Low ? Are the H4 bulbs a white or blue light ?
