thanks richard, ha ha neither would i. reading the info the gas is added at a rate of 30% only, not pure gas which allows cleaner burn (not that my td emits black smoke) which results in cleaner oil and claim extra 300k's each 100litres of diesel "and wait there's more" 10-20% more power

Hi,
I have a factory turbo 79 fitted with Diesel/Gas. It has only been done 4 weeks ago. I am noticing a BIG improvement in power and a reasonable improvement in economy. I expect as I am using the power I am losing the economy though. The engine runs like it was a petrol engine ! Geting about 10.5 L/100 on highway with a wide but not high canopy for wind resistance. When towing a 3.5 ton horsefloat I climb evey
hill 1 gear higher with a LOT less gearchanging.
This kit rocks for power !

cheers dunedigger, where was your conversion done? you sound positive, what size gas tank did they fit and where was it mounted. could you please give me an idea of the complete conversion cost? there's no problem with power in my td but the idea of a cleaner situation inside the motor and better economy is certainly worth looking at. thanks mate.

Hi Brad979,
It was done at Binskins Port Maccquarie NSW. There are
well known diesel tuners in NSW. The only problem as
mine was the first Factory TD 79 that had been done in Australia, and maping the gas flow was a but 'hit and miss'. Cost of the gear was $3,500.00 plus fitting about another $1,000.00 ( Ouch ! )
Only 26 of litres of gas to fill the tank. I really need two tanks. The tank is fitted under the tray.
I would not expect Toyota to cover warranty but the vehicle is nearly 3 years old now, I refuse to worry.
I will take it back to Binskins to make some adjustments to the computer It is a bit lean on gas ( Not enough gas ) while touring but about right when heavy towing
Cheers
Dunedigger
