Hi I have an Engle fridge. It is about 20yrs old and until now has run perfectly.
It now only runs on 240v but not 12v. Any suggestions from you guys in the big bad world????

It wouldn't owe you anything, keep it as drinks fridge, and shout yourself a new one. Fault may only be in 12v wiring, plug or lead, for sake of an hours labour it might be repairable.

Ray, Have you checked that power is getting to plug, the later models have a fuse in cig lighter plug. If you took cover off, there maybe a wire that has vibrated off, broken etc

Our 20 year old Engle gave up the ghost in Broome after a recent trip through the centre, we where advised by the Engle service agent that the Voltage converter fracknackle valve, (or simmilar), was dead and the replacement cost was way too prohibitive. It also runs happily on 240 volts and makes a great beer fridge as suggested above. there would be no sense in spending the $600 or so dollars to repair when a new unit with warranty would be the better bet and you should still get another 20 years out of that one.
