Hi,
I have a dilema and hope someone can help. I found a post from May 2005 from Austravel (PostID: 23234) who had the same problem that I have now. The grease nipple on my universal/tail shaft on a GU patrol is damaged. It's a 6mm x 0.75 pitch thread and has a 90 degree angle. I can't find anyone that has them including Enzed, Pirtec, fastener and automotive suppliers. Most
places stocked a 6mm x 1 pitch.
Nissan can only supply the grease nipple with the universal joint at a cost of $130.
Seems ridiculous as my only option so far, as I was hoping to buy 6 of them and keep some spares in the toolbox.
Thanks
Alfred

Hi Alfred,
I too was chasing some grease nipples with the angle ( think i was chasing 8mm? ) and couldn't find them anywhere. Ended up trying the local spring &
suspension store and got em !!! Maybe you'll have luck with your local bloke and if not,you can send me an email to dan26aus@aapt.net.au as i am good mates with my local bloke and see him quite often and could even see if he can get em for you. I wouldn't give those spare parts dept's anymore than you really need to.
Good luck
Dan

Thanks Dan,
I hadn't thought of a spring and
suspension store. Carrolls springs is not far from me, I'll give them a try and let you know. I tried the link HJ60-2H sent me and no luck. They have a straight nipple with the thread I need but not a 90 degree. I do hope to find one soon or I may do what Austravel did with his and just "screw in a 6x1mm nipple"
Cheers
Alfred

As followup above, still no luck.
Thanks for the link, there's some interesting gear there but not what I'm after.

Hi Alfred,
The local Nissan guy said just screw in a 6x1mm nipple. Thought about it and decided to give it a go as it's only a small difference in pitch. Went in ok and didn't strip so alls fine.

Looks like this will be the answer to my dilema. I'd thought about trying a 6 x 1mm nipple and what my options were if the thread stripped. Though I will keep looking for now.
Thanks for your advice.

You could retap the thread or use a self tapping nipple.
