Thought if I didn't pass this on, someone would sure be disappointed ;-)

The Director of National Parks and Wildlife has given approval to close to the public, part of Coffin Bay National Park from 6.00pm on Monday 22 May 2006 until 11.00am on Thursday 25 May 2006.

The closure of the Coffin Bay National Park applies to the area encompassing all of the park area to the north and west of Black Springs Campground.

The remainder of the Coffin Bay National Park will remain open to the public during this period.

The purpose of the closure is to ensure the safety of the public during an animal-culling program being conducted within the Coffin Bay National Park during the abovementioned period.

Sounds like they (NP) are going to get rid of the horses in the park. This cull was nocked on the head the last time it was made public, been a bit quiter this time around.

that was my guess too, but this time they may have just said "feral animals" and be after goats, pigs, foxes and rabbits too ;-)

That's right the last of the ponies were sold at auction at Easter. Don't know what they will be culling, maybe a few roos, have lived here for the past 9 mths and there are plenty around.
