Just got back from doing a lap of tassie visiting relo's from Launy to Eaglehawk neck. Beautiful beautiful place. Eaglehawk neck and tasman peninsula is not to be missed. Didn't get any camping done (had warm beds and showers) however found some wonderful spots. Hoping to get back there in Sept - maybe restock the fireworks...

On another note, we're heading off to Wingan Inlet, Croajingolog (again) this weekend. Anybody know what the fishing is like there this time of year and what we should aim for?

Hi Jodi,
Wife & I spent a few days camped at Wingan a couple of weeks ago. Didn't catch anything that we didn't have to throw back, however we are new at the fishing game and others were catching plenty up river.
Cross the inlet and have feast of oysters off the rocks....yes there's plenty for everyone. If you haven' done it already, Lake Elusive is worth a circumvent....the young sheoaks have exploded on the banks.
The West Wingan track was closed when we were there and had to enter via East Wingan track...check with Parks prior.
Enjoy,
Sheps

Thanks Sheps. I'm really looking forward to some quiet time. What kind of fish did you catch and did you get them from the jetty or did you paddle out/up the inlet?
