I would like to Thank all for helping me with my stolen campertrailer. Still no luck with finding it. Anyway i went out to caulfield yesterday and spoke with all of the campertrailer manufactures in melbourne and i had learned that a few campertrailer manufactures had campertrailers stolen from there show room. So it must be a wanted product in the market. So it would be a good idea for all concerned to lock up there campertrailers. I also would like to thank all the campertrailer companys out there that took time to speak to me and i was that impressed that a campertrailer mob has offered me free hire on a campertrailer till i replace mine so its good to see people out there look out for each other cheers

Hi
I too had my camper stolen from out the front of my house overnight about 3 weeks ago. It was a Goldtream 1999 Goldwing Outback model. The worst thing is it had absolutely everthing we need for camping, chairs, torches, bedding, tables etc in it. It had a treg hitch which I thought might make it harder but no. They only had a 24hr window to steal it and steal it they did.
Any suggestions on a replacement? We are looking at the Jayco Expanda 16 49 1 or the Windsor Rapid R2 I think it is. Windsor looks better finished but not sure if it's $8000 better.

I have a windsor rapid - 16 by 7 outback model - can't speak for the Expanda.

When buying it decided the hard roof over beds was a must plus the way the beds pack up means you can put it away wet with beds away from canvas - not that it gets very wet due to the roof overlap. (I am Victorian so weather is a factor)

Additionally, it came with pretty much everything (including R/C air)- not many "add ons" required.

Great Van, survived a 3 month trip last year around Oz, including the GRR with only minor issues with the Oven - bolts fell out a couple of times.

Full check after revealed nothing out of place.

Tons of Room for storage (including for one 5YO).

Overall Very happy with it.

Richard

Thanks LandieRick

Putting away wet beds has never been a option/problem for me as I havent been able to do it with the camper anyhow. I might try and pick up a recent Windsor if not a new Expanda. Thanks again

I am really sorry to hear that your camper trailer was stolen. I think I know how you feel. We had ours stolen in 2000 and we were really upset as we were in first stages of planning an 8 week trip around QLD. It looked like we might not go as a result.

I just hope that you had it insured, both the camper and the contents. I know it doesn't replace the things that you have some sentimental attachment to, but it is better than nothing.

We did manage to get another camper trailer in time and we have had it for the last 6 years. We have been to many places with it and have any wonderful memories that would not be possible without it.

Cheers,
Mal
