A particular member of the
forum who is always waxing lyrical on the merits of his ‘mighty jack’ (Jackaroo) has found himself in a position that we all dread.
I’ll say no more on the subject and let him explain how he came to be in this position.
The Pics aren’t too flash, however its quite clear what the position is.

The pics show the Jack pulling the Troopy backwards.....
Who needs mates...... after hitting some roos, snapping a UHF aerial and not having a clutch for the last 1200km, I decided that it would be safer to tow the jack, clutchless when we got into the city, closest exit to Lucy's House. I drove the Jack just over 1200kms, I towed it the last 2kms
home, actually Robo insisted and it took 4 times longer as he HAD to take the photo's, once he figured out how to use the camera. The mighty jack, never let me down or stranded me anyway.
Up yours hahaha

Hi Ads, sorry to hear about the damage - hope you had a great time to make it worth it.
BTW, I have a spare GME AE4702 6db GI antenna - about 1.2mtrs, white fibreglass with spring base. Yours if you want it. It's a great aeriel, just a bit too tall on the new Patrol LOL.
Cheers

Hi Truckster, I'll wait to hear from Ads first - will let you know. I need to park the Patrol in a
carpark each day that has a 2.00m height restriction - just squeezes under now with a few cms to spare - aerial is too tall when mounted on the top rail of the bullbar - have bought a combo aerial that has the shorter 3db stub and longer 6db extension.
Still waiting on your email BTW...LOL ....although, iprimus stuffed our account for a while as they are too stupid to process a direct debit each month.....

The owner of the 'Jack' will no doubt be telling embellished (very embellished) 'war stories' of the trip over a few beers as time goes on, and so he should.
However he has been remiss in telling you all that he was 'escorted back by Big Al in the 100 series and myself in the Troopy who took it in turns to ride shotgun on the traffic behind the said Jack, allowing space and time for clutchless gear changes and ignition starts.
Wildest time was where the
Bendigo by-pass joins the Calder, as the only B-Double encountered for the whole trip just had to be there on the crossover.
However it all turned out a happy story.
Especially in getting that sucker on a rope behind the Troopy.

That wasn't called for.
If you must know I learnt my lesson three days before hand when BONZ and I were searching for a track that hadn't been used since Moses was a boy, and I put a
rock or stake through the side wall where it met the tread shoulder.
Managed to plug it with 5 plugs and almost took BONZ'S middle finger off when re-seating the bead.
So what you see here is person who learnt his lesson in trashing an almost brand new $300 tyre, and now airs down when appropriate instead of being a lazy
b a s t a r d.
Much like finding out what E on the fuel guage stands for when seeing how much is in the auxilliary tank before switching to the main, only this little slip in good practice and procedure cost me the aforementioned $300.

It must be a Troopy thing,
"You know it wasn't stuck - just that the 'D i c khead' driver hadn't put it in 4WD.
Makes one feel a real pillock when that happens. (ROFLMAO)"
I went up
Stockton Beach fishing one Saturday night a few weeks back, got on at
Stockton, off at Birubi on the Northern end.
Thought "bugger it, I'll drive backdown
the beach to get home"
Off I went, got nearly to the Sygna and thought the Troopy was doing it a little tough on the dunes for 16psi.
Hmm, wouldn't want to know, it was still in 2wd. Who said Toyota LSD's don't work!
Geoff.
