Mr Z
Hi,
just a quick note to anyone in the market for a honda generator. They currently have a few good deals on at the moment (cash back offer)
i picked up a new eu10i for $1270
and the eu20i is going for $1700 after the $200 cash back
these prices are cheaper than some of the second hand prices, especially the last few that have sold on ebay, for around the same $$'s or more!
cheers

Don't forget you can get a Kipor 2 Kva for $899 which IMHO is VERY nearly as good as the Honda.
I've bought 2 this year, one for me and one for a friend- both have done a fair bit of work (40-50 hours so far) and absolutely flawless.
See them on e-bay from NovaSmic in
Newcastle.
Cheers

Yep, looks like the bite of competition is starting to dig into some of those inflated prices - watch this space.

The Kipors must be getting popular. Now the starting price on Ebay is $995.00. They've gone up a hundred.......

I bought my 1kVA Kipor from Novasmic for $599 12 months ago - the price seems to vary depending on how many they have in stock.
Works perfectly - even to run my 2 door fridge during a blackout.

Yep - that is a great price for the Honda - did plenty of homework prior to buying my Yam a few months back - best I saw in SA was about $1450 for the Honda - got the Yam for $1300 - re the Kipor - they might be good but is there a nation wide dealer network in support of the warranty ? Guess Honda have a warehouse full of them due to keen competition.

Darian,
Don't know if it's urban myth or fact but there are supposed to be multiple Kipor importers in Australia.
If your unit wasn't imported by the person you are trying to extract warranty from then tough, go find the people that imported it.
They do appear to be quite competitive not only in price.
Geoff.

I was being a bit cute Geoff - not a myth I'm told, re the lack of networked support - I'd rather pay extra for something that is willingly supported in the area that I'm travelling in... untested of course, but there is some comfort in Yamaha's backup statement (as do Honda) !

Try a grand!
That's how much less I paid.
And having run it beside a Honda 2Kva there's only a little difference in noise.
I'm happy and I still have my $1,000.
