Most suppliers have a few different options for you to choose. They'll ask you, "How much weight do you carry?" You have to supply an accurate answer for them to suggest a spring rate. "What sort of 4x4ing do you do?" will be another question as mountain work, desert crossings and towing packages are all different requirements for a spring. I have three different spring options that I use, aloong with tyres, I change the springs to suit the type of trip I'm planning. eg, raised height but standard rate, Heavy duty raised height and extra heavy duty raised height. Follow?

cheers desert
i supose you could change the rear springs to suit the load ,as you say
nearly every time you go away the load is different
but the front could stay the same as this would not vary much my old
gq has 18mm front which are ok

g,day, one option i tried, hduty frt springs to suit the weight of the A.M.D.(accessory mounting device) and polyaires to suit the changing loads that system worked vwell but i still dragged the rear tail lights out in extreme situations so i lifted it 50mm bk,30mm frt progressive rate springs when loaded it sank 20mm but the ride was level. cheers.

I'd recommend Raised 2" plus poly airs to level out load. Not perfect but it's a setup you can stabilise for just about any load or accessories.

under some circumstances it might feel a bit of a barge but unless you wanna chop and change 3 sets of springs then it is probably as good as you will get.
