I bought a second-hand trailblaza on ebay a few months ago,for about $600 less than new price. They would have to be the toughest fridge on the market. It was about 7 years old,but runs fine.-Steve

I bought a Trailblaza in 1988. I lived and travelled all over Cape York for 10 years, with it spending most of it's time in the back of a ute or dual cab.
About 3 years ago I had to replace the thermostat. About 18 months ago I replaced the compressor. One of the windings went open circuit. It took 15 years of corrugations to kill the compressor.
The fridge looks like it has been through a war, but is still working fine.
They are probably the toughest fridge around, but do not suit everyone. They are bigger and bulkier than most of their competition and are not quite as stylish. But when its 60 degrees in the back of your 100 series wagon, it's nice to know that your beeer or coke is 2 degrees.
To sum it up, I would have no hesitation in buying another.

gdad,

we got ours new about 5 years ago(70lt)...love love love it...so does the old man.
bottom we use as a freezer and top as fridge. freezes fish fillet down really quickly. not like some other brands. we used it for 2 years straight while travelling and never had a problem with any food going off. dont get to use it as much now as we only go bush a few times a year, but it is fantastic if you are a fisherman. brought it back from Karumba full of barra and salmon last year, hope to do that again in a few weeks! We are thinking of buying another little one for bait only (so i stop complaining about smelly bait in with my food)
we would try to outbid you if we were closer to it LOL.

Ellen
