Just need some advice re a blue tongue air compressor which I recently inherited minus some parts. Despite extensive searching I cannot find an image of one that is actually set up. My question is which is inlet and which is outlet? The head of my unit has an "A" facing out from the compressor body and a "B" which faces towards the body of the compressor. I assume one is meant to have a filter on it?
Thanks

Gday Pete,,, I have a Blue tongue compressor and just had a look at it. Mine is mounted on its side in a small tool box so cant see the letters but the inlet with the little filter is the one facing towards the electric motor.... Nav.

Easy

Fire it up and see which one sucks and which one blows.

However I have a Blue tongue IV and on looking on top of it

The A port is the inlet/sucker and the arrow head denotes that.

Straight acroos the other side the O port is the outlet/blower and the arrow head denotes that.

Mine is mounted in the cabin between the pasengers seat and door.

It is an emergency back up to the endless air and ARB under the bonnet.

And yes I have had to use it once in that capacity due to switches falling apart on the ARB.

I am going to seek 'therapy' tomorrow in an effort to understand why I bother with you two pink nissan mafioso clowns.

Fair dinkum, you two are something else.

But I do like you. (ROFLMAO)

PS

That mother %$#*&^ endless mount is coming off in the next week and going up top where it should have been in the first place.

Just R & D -ing the idler bearing set up for it as we speak.

Just something to ponder over, I've had a blue tongue for about 10 years & being in the hydraulics industry I use it as a vacuum pump. ie to pull vacuum on oil tanks to work on components without emptying tank & to assemble large or difficult cylinders. It has worked without mishap except one failure of a reed valve.
It now lives in my service truck.

Thanks for advice guys - especially the photos. Just to confuse the issue it looks like mine is not a Blue Tongue as we know it - it is a gray colour Thomas 405 series which looks like a blue tongue - perhaps an earlier version? The letters are diffierent to those shown on the photos, and have no arrows. Even the Thomas website does not indicate which is which. I'll fire it up and see what happens - think I should be able to get a filter and some advice from Opposite Lock.
Cheers
